Wedding Planning Tips

Tis the season for engagements! This past January, I got married (cue the pealing of bells). It was dreamy, and I will talk more about the experience in a later post.

For now, I’d like to share a few wedding planning tips I learned along the way that may help you, too.

  1. Start a pinterest board for each event you’re having. This was a great way to keep all my inspiration pieces together and to stay organized.

  2. When you find the perfect (dress, veil, venue, color palette), stop looking. There will always be more dresses, more options, more...everything. When you find what you’re looking for and you love it, commit to it and congratulate yourself on making a decision.

  3. You won’t remember a lot of things, so try not to stress too much. I really stressed over the music for our first dance. At the time, it seemed all consuming- this song would set the tone for our whole marriage! (Not true.) While I am happy with the song we chose, to be honest, I didn’t even hear it. We were both so happy to be dancing and married that the music didn’t even matter (a very good problem to have).

  4. Think about the weather as you pick your clothing. We got married in the winter and I was very happy to have my faux fur wrap for my backless dress as the evening turned chilly.

Do what YOU want. This is you and your partner’s day and it should look and feel how you want it to. Be kind and sensitive when you (inevitably) have to turn down someone’s suggestion that isn’t your style. It’s okay to do what you want today.

Being married is the best- 5 out of 5, would recommend :)
