Celebrate, Good Times, C’mon 🎶
This past weekend the adorable Prince Harry married his princess, Ms. Meghan Markel, while the whole world looked on, including us! Is there anything more wonderful and inspiring as a young couple marrying and starting their lives together? Not much! It’s just adorable and we loved every minute of it from 5am on.
Celebrating is what we do and defines many of our days. So, we celebrated this young couple by preparing a traditional English tea. Being from the U.S. we had no idea what we were doing so we turned to our old friend Google for the answer. Google provided us with recipes, an order of service, and lots of photos of what it should look like.
Sarah and I have been to ‘high-tea’ before while out of town at fancy hotels. Each time it was decadent and delicious. Beautiful little sandwiches, sweet pastries and savory pastries, tiny cakes, and hot tea. What a fun luxury to get to share with one another!
Our little celebration tried to replicate all that we’ve experienced and all that we read about. We made cucumber and tomato mini-sandwiches, Coronation Chicken salad mini-sandwiches, fresh fruit, scones, croissants, handmade chocolates, cookies, petit fours, and delicious hot tea. We added our own spin on things and opened a bottle of bubbly to toast the happy couple. What a delicious and fun way to spend a Saturday morning!
We love celebrating anything at all – whether it is a marriage or a beautiful sunny day. So come along with us and celebrate the big and small milestones of our lives, incorporating all the fun into your life too!
Pictured above: the tablescape, homemade and store-bought goodies (pro-tip: always mix in store-bought with homemade- it's a time saver and a lot of fun!), and a toast to the newlyweds. Yes, we are wearing replicas of Kate's engagement ring, obviously.
I knew that the 2 of you would be up to watch all the wedding fesitivities! It was so wonderful and I love that you had your own Royal British Tea to celebrate the occasion. Looking forward to following along on your blog and all of your celebrations big and small.
