Swimwear for Grown-Ups: For the Love of Dilemmas!

(This is part three of my series on dilemmas- check out the archives for the previous posts!)

I have three female dilemmas:

-bras that fit (see previous post for more on The Dreaded Bra)

-comfortable shoes (see my previous post for more on Shoes Hurt My Feet)

-swimwear for grown-ups

Today I am tackling swimwear for adults, a topic that is almost as difficult as The Dreaded Bra! Each year it gets a bit harder to find swimwear that doesn’t scare me!

You’ve probably noticed that I spend a lot of my time and money at Target, a store that I love. Target recently put out their summer swimsuits, coverups, and sandals. All the things that make for a great day at the beach – if you are 12 and under.

Does anyone, besides me, remember when a swimsuit was more than a bra and panties? They keep getting smaller and smaller – yikes and no thanks! I long for the days of swimsuits that women wore in the 1950’s – cute but subtle and the women looked comfortable.

I was recently fortunate enough to go to Key West, FL a most beautiful, delightful, and totally wacky place! I love the carefree lifestyle of islanders, I love seafood and sunshine, and I love a cool tasty beverage by the ocean. It is a place where everyone wears what they want, day and night, including virtually nothing. Maybe I am jealous that I don’t have the gumption to wear my underwear in public ☺

I am not embarrassed by my body, nor do I have any self esteem issues. I just like wearing clothing that covers enough of me, when I go anywhere, whether it’s a day at work or a day at the beach. I’m definitely not judging what other people do but you’ll never find me on a nude beach, in a thong, or wearing my underwear in public.

Like my story Shoes Hurt My Feet I will report back if I find a good swimsuit. Enjoy your summer in whatever you are wearing ☺
