Restaurant Review: il Lusso

My husband and I recently celebrated our second wedding anniversary by heading to a new and buzzy restaurant in Tallahassee. The restaurant, called il Lusso, had been recommended to us by several friends and sounded like the perfect special occasion spot.

The happy couple!

Il Lusso is located in the heart of downtown Tallahassee. It features indoor, window, and patio dining, as well as a hopping bar and happy hour scene. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed with gold and black accents and a sleek vibe. We opted for window seating, which I would highly recommend if you enjoy people watching.

Brent and I started with cocktails that were strong and tasty, then moved on to the arancini appetizer. No pictures survive because these arancini were so delicious that we devoured them almost instantly. Creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside, they were served with a tomato jam and copious amounts of parmesan.

Traditional Carbonara

I chose the carbonara as my main and was not disappointed. The house-made pasta was cooked perfectly, and the combination of egg and pancetta in this dish makes it a winner.

Brent went with the short rib agnolotti which was beautifully presented and just as tasty to eat.

Agnolotti- almost too pretty to eat! (Almost...)

We ended the night with good cups of coffee and a ricotta cheesecake topped with cherries that was sweet but not too sweet and the perfect way to end such a rich meal.

Il Lusso was a gorgeous place to see and be seen, with delicious food and many different options to play with the menu (pasta courses, soups, antipasti, steaks, chops...you could really personalize this experience to your liking). I am already looking forward to going back!
