Painting is an easy and inexpensive way to make a room feel completely different. I have repainted many rooms in our house and am always amazed at what a difference such a simple change can make.
Last winter I decided to repaint our living room. It’s a shotgun style space with a chair rail and beautiful windows. I decided to paint the bottom half of the walls a dark navy blue and the top halves a grayish-blue-white.
The biggest surprise was what a difference a fresh coat of white paint on the chair rail and trim made- the room really pops now!
From the top left: holes to be patched (this is what happens when you get a puppy); the original room (you can see there wasn't great flow; furniture pushed to the middle while the primer dried; color swatches; the finished product- love the new furniture arrangement!
