I am not a big believer in New Year’s resolutions- I have rarely kept them and have trouble narrowing down all that I hope to achieve in a year into a few digestible bites. However, I have recently had a change of heart.
This year, I find myself greatly looking forward to the opportunity to start again. To bring about change in myself and my routines. Maybe it won’t last all year but maybe it will- maybe the excitement of the new year and fresh beginnings are exactly what we all need.
Here are my 2019 resolutions:
Quit Facebook: Done! I should have done this a long time ago.
Exercise 3 times a week: This can be going for a walk, going to the gym, doing yoga in my living room...it doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it is something. Doesn’t matter if it’s during the week or on the weekend. No time constraints.
Write in my gratitude journal everyday: My mom gifted me a beautiful gratitude journal over the holidays, and I am looking forward to writing in it everyday. The entries don’t have to be long, but there needs to be something in it everyday. I believe in the power of positivity (which is funny coming from this cynic), and I look forward to finding the silver linings in things.
So: 1 is done, 1 is daily, and 1 is three times a week. We’ll see how it goes, but I am really going to try.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? Are they big or small? For you or for others? Share them in the comments- we’d love to cheer you on!
New Years resolutions are something I haven't really done in quite some time. This year I am trying to get back to making a few better choices with regard to my eating habits. One of the places I struggle the most is snacking at my desk during the work day. I think it more out of boredom (not that I don't have plenty of work to do)than being hungry. The other I want to work at is taking Minnie out for a walk at least a couple evenings a week.
