Hot Chocolate Balls

This was certainly all the rage during the pandemic and it is because it is fun, easy, and delicious! You make the balls, drop them in a mug, pour hot milk over them, and enjoy the comfort of something yummy and a smidge decadent!

The recipe here is pretty simple and the only thing hard about it is finding the silicone molds.

Chocolate chips, whatever kind you like

White chocolate chips, whatever kind you like

Hot cocoa mix, whatever kind you like, I just Quik

Marshmallows

  1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second increments, stirring after each blast in the microwave.

  2. Do the same thing with the white chocolate chips.

  3. Using a silicone pastry brush, brush the chocolates inside the round molds. Place the molds in the freezer until firm.

  4. Carefully pop the chocolates out of the molds.

  5. In ½ of a mold place the hot cocoa mix and a marshmallow or two.

  6. “Glue” the other half of the chocolate using a smidge of the leftover melted chocolate. Hold the top and bottom together for a few seconds until they adhere.

  7. Drop the ball into a mug and pour in hot milk. Stir to combine the flavors and enjoy.

You can change this recipe by using all chocolate, all white chocolate, flavored marshmallows, or adding chopped up candy pieces.
