Homemade Stuff!

When I was a kid we made lots of homemade things - doll clothes, hopscotch on the driveway, outdoor and indoor ‘forts,’ popsicles, and lots of stuff I no longer remember! It was fun and creative and a good way to while away the hours, especially during summer break.

Like most people, as I got older, my life became busy and I started buying more things rather than making them because there’s just not enough hours in my day, blah-blah-blah!

Then it hit me!

The time I spend going from store to store, the time I spend in traffic, the time I spend comparing things online, etc. could be spent making things! And isn’t there just a real sense of wonder when you create something? That same feeling I had as a child- of awe and delight - was back as I started creating again!

Here’s a few pictures of my latest creations and information for how you, too, can do these things:

My daughter and I took a class at www.hammerandstainthomasville.com and made these adorable trays. This one is for my son and daughter-in-law who got married in 2013.

This great little local shop in Thomasville, GA has all kinds of cute wood items you can make for holidays and special occasion gifts.

My friend and I took a cookie decorating class at www.tptkitchenshop.com and learned how to make these adorable cookies.

The Prepared Table is a new local kitchen shop in Bannerman Crossing, Tallahassee, FL that has a plethora of amazing kitchen supplies and offers cooking classes of all kinds!

This is a sweet little wall hanging I made at www.arworkshop.com in Tallahassee, FL that reminds me of how much I love my home.

AR Workshop is a great place to go with a group of friends for a fun night out of creating!

What are you working on? Send us pictures and inspire us!

There’s more to come as I have taken up sewing again and hope to be able to show you some wonderful creations very soon!
