French Toast Casserole

A delicious and easy breakfast that can be prepared the night before.



You will need:

  • 1 loaf of bread

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 4 eggs

  • ½ cup of milk

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • Pinch of salt

Pecan Topping

  • ½ stick of softened butter

  • ½ cup of brown sugar

  • s½ cup of chopped pecans

  1. Cut the bread into cubes and place in a well buttered casserole dish.

  2. Mix the remaining casserole ingredients together and pour over the bread cubes pushing the cubes down to submerge them.

  3. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

  4. The next morning, mix together the pecan topping ingredients and smear over the casserole.

  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake uncovered until golden brown and bubbly, about 40 minutes.

  6. Allow to sit for about 15 minutes before serving.
