My favorite holiday traditions, in no particular order:
Getting the Christmas tree and decorating it: This is always hilarious because Brent and I go out of our way to find very odd and unusual ornaments to decorate with. Our tree perfectly reflects us.
Sending Christmas cards: I love creating the cards, putting them together, developing the mailing list- the whole thing. I usually take this opportunity to watch The Santa Clause (yes, with an “e,” it’s a pun), one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.
Looking at Christmas lights: Driving or walking, neighborhoods or large decor shows, this is such a wonderful highlight of the season for me. Pro-tip: bring hot cocoa!
Watching my favorite holiday movies and holiday specials: I am a sucker for the Great Christmas Light Fight, special Christmas episodes of shows, reruns of my favorite movies, holiday baking shows...you name it, I will watch it.
Christmas Eve dinner: Hands down my favorite meal of the year, featuring appetizer type bites and lots of cranberry cocktails.
Wrapping gifts: This one may surprise you, but I love wrapping presents. I usually save everything and make one big afternoon of it. I wrap, watch movies, sip Pumpkin Spice anything, and just love thinking of the person I will be gifting the items to.
