Deviled eggs are one of my all time favorite appetizers/party snacks. They’re amazingly versatile and very simple to make. One of the best things about deviled eggs is the myriad ways they can be personalized to your taste. Like it spicy? Add sriracha. Looking for something crunchy? Bacon bits are the key. Want something totally out of the box? I’m looking at you, Thai spices!
As much as I enjoy experimenting with flavors, I also believe classics are classics for a reason. Here’s my favorite mix to fill deviled eggs with when I’m looking to please a crowd:
Mix together:
Egg yolks (duh)
Mayonnaise
Diced sweet pickles
Dijon mustard (MUST be dijon! The flavors in this mustard are key)
Teeny tiny splash of white vinegar
Salt and pepper
Garlic powder
Top with a sprinkle of paprika (red chili pepper works, too)
All of this is “to taste.” So if you’re more of a tangy fan, don’t hesitate to add some more vinegar (or pickle juice), or if you like to keep things mild, more mayo will do the trick.
