Cyclovia

Cyclovia is an annual event held in the historic downtown area of Pensacola, FL. The streets are completely closed to vehicular traffic from 9am-2pm on a Saturday and guests are encouraged to walk, ride bikes, skateboard, rollerskate, and hoverboard throughout the downtown. It is an incredible way to see what downtown Pensacola has to offer. From local coffee shops and eateries to art galleries and boutiques, this downtown is really thriving.

One of the coolest parts of this area is that the Wahoo Stadium (the local minor league baseball team’s home base) is smack dab in the middle of it all. This is a beautiful area that overlooks the water. The entire downtown is practically flat, making it a very easy and enjoyable ride.

My favorite part is called “Pensacola al fresco”- a food truck park in the downtown. We ate at a taco truck called Calavera Tacos. They had an impressive menu with tons of options from traditional ground beef and chorizo tacos to fried shrimp and ceviche tacos. Reasonably priced and delicious- the perfect combination! The park had several food trucks as well as tables and chairs for the patrons. It was adorable in the day, and I imagine it would be the perfect late-night snack site or evening date spot when the weather is nice.

Downtown areas are coming back into style, so be sure to check out the downtown where you are and let us know how it is! You might be surprised at what you find!
