Cookbook Review: 101 Asian Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die

Jet Tila’s 101 Asian Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die is an absolute must-have for all home cooks. It is by far the most accessible, easy to follow Asian cookbook I have ever had the pleasure of cooking from.

Asian food is a broad term- it encompasses an entire continent for goodness sakes! Jet does a great job of breaking the geography down by flavor profiles- countries that use mostly soy sauce are in a section, fish sauce is its own section, chili paste is yet another. It’s nice to see these flavors broken down, as this keeps all of your meals from tasting the same. Dishes from vastly different countries should taste...well, different from one another!

I am slowly learning how to incorporate new dishes into our weekly routines, and this book is a great way to continue that. The recipes are easy to follow and the intro paragraphs really help you understand how the recipe is going to go. While there may be a lot of ingredients involved, the steps are not difficult to follow and the end results have been delicious.

I would highly recommend 101 Asian Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die and I look forward to sharing these new-to-me dishes with you!
