College Football Hall of Fame

The helmet wall greets you at the front door

The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame is located in downtown Atlanta, GA. Growing up in the south, college football is a way of life. Everyone has “their” team, everyone goes to the games in whichever college town is closest to them. In addition to being a FSU alum, I also had the pleasure of growing up in Tallahassee, home to the Florida State Seminoles.

Winner winner!

When I was growing up in the 90s, FSU was unbeatable. In fact, I never saw a loss in our home stadium, Doak Campbell. It was so exciting to see such a force on the field every weekend. Of course, the mighty have fallen and things have changed now, but c’est la vie and Go Noles!

I was recently at a conference in Atlanta, and one of the nighttime activities was visiting the College Football Hall of Fame. Even though I love football, I wasn’t 100% on board with this outing. After a full day of meetings, staying in with some wine and Netflix sounded much more appealing.

View from the second floor of the Hall of Fame

Thankfully, my co-worker talked me into it, and I have to say- it is one of the coolest places I have ever been!

Indoor field where you can attempt field goals, first downs, and more!

The whole place is high tech. When you check in, you give the front desk a little information about yourself and you get a special name badge to wear. This badge activates all of the exhibits. So when I walked into the actual Hall of Fame, a screen lit up that said “Hi Sarah! Florida State can be found to your right.”

One of the welcome screens that popped up as I walked by with my badge

This happened throughout all of the exhibits: walk by a speaker and the FSU fight song played. Stand in front of a screen and pictures of games gone by would flash before you. Simply put: It was awesome.

Xs and Os

I was also able to try my hand at throwing a football...to pretty terrible results (but hey, A for effort, right?).

This is a fun, interactive and engaging exhibit hall that I would highly recommend visiting. And for those of you who don’t like football, you can always admire the view of Atlanta from the 2nd floor.
