Book Review: The Dreamers

The Dreamers is a fast-paced novel. It sucks you in from the first page and hangs on until the end. If you liked Station Eleven, you will love this book.

The Dreamers follows several seemingly unrelated characters in a small town in the southwest. Suddenly, people in the town start coming down with an odd sleeping sickness- they just sleep and sleep, without cause or end. As the weeks of the story unfold, we come to understand how the characters are more interrelated than they originally think, and the mystery of what the sleepers are dreaming becomes more and more pressing.

I don’t want to give too much away about the plot, so I’ll stop here. I will say that this story speaks to themes that I always love reading about: how everything we do affects something else whether we realize it or not, that love is often complicated, that wishing is a powerful magic, and that some things don’t have answers.

Give The Dreamers a read and let me know what you think!
