One of my all time favorite shows is Bob’s Burgers. It’s a cartoon about a family that owns a small burger restaurant in a beach town. The chef (Bob) comes up with hilarious burger-of-the-day titles in each episode and writes them on the “specials” board in the restaurant.
These burger-of-the-day titles became so eye-catching and popular that a real cookbook was written based on the names. The Bob’s Burgers Burger Book is filled with quirky recipes and flavor combos, each one more delicious than the last.
My husband and I are big hamburger people, and we’ve tried quite a few of these recipes. The most impressive thing about this cookbook is that it takes us out of our comfort zones. Many times we have created one of the burgers and thought “these ingredients are very...odd” and the meal has been delicious. I encourage you to try some of these!
The Sound and Curry Burger
An all beef burger (though this would work with lamb) topped with curry sauce and scallions. We LOVED this burger. It was savory and filled with spices...who would have guessed a curry burger would be one of our new favorites?
