Blondies are like a brownie without the cocoa powder and are equally yummy! They remind me of an extra thick chocolate chip cookie that you cut into giant squares! What’s not to like?
2 sticks of room temperature butter
1 cup of packed light brown sugar
½ cup of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1-2 cups of chopped walnuts or pecans
1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 by 12 inch pan.
Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter and the sugars until they are light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix. Add the vanilla.
Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Slowly add to the creamed mixture.
Turn the mixer off and fold in the nuts and chocolate.
Spread into the prepared pan and bake about 30 minutes.
Cool in the pan, then cut into bars.
