I have loved Ikea since the first time I shopped there many years ago. There’s something about the store that brings me joy, even though I wouldn’t have expected it to.
For one thing, Ikea’s are usually HUGE; but they somehow still feel cozy. (I think it’s the way the store is divided into different “rooms”.) Ikea has an overwhelming number of choices and options; but they are arranged in such a way that they are simple to navigate. The store has gobs and gobs of inexpensive furniture; but it is relatively well made. And finally...the store has a restaurant which should be awful but serves decent coffee and is rather enjoyable.
In short, there’s a lot to hate about Ikea, but so much more to love. I seek these stores out when I travel and always make time to pop in. Their seasonal decor is adorable, affordable, and fun and their staple items match just about any color palette.
